Cerantola Ready To Step it Up – Aims for Deputy Mayor

Gary Cerantola, shown above with wife Eva and "Duke" after filing papers to run for Deputy Mayor in the October Wasaga Beach Municipal Elections. Cerantola, Chair of the Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival says he has the experience and the skills to make the difference and wants to help set a course for Wasaga Beach that will truly make the Beach a preferred place in which to live, work and play.  Cerantola describes his platform as Vision Driven Change in three areas; 1) Making Wasaga Beach a Better Place for Business 2) Sustainability in terms of focusing on the economic, social and environmental aspects of managing the town responsibly and 3) Good Governance in terms of accountability and transparency of Council and the Town and working with our partners Ontario Parks and surrounding communities in a progressive way to drive the local tourism economy and take the speed bumps out of the process.  Gary says this town needs an older adult strategic plan to prepare ourselves for serving our citizens.  He goes on to say that 62% of the Beach population is 55 and older. We need the infrastructure to attract younger families to support the services that will be needed in the future.
